Christie plays principal part
Principal hotels has appointed Charlynne Christie as general manager of the Royal Terrace Hotel in Edinburgh. She takes up the position following Principal's acquisition of the hotel late last year.
Miss Christie was previously director of sales and marketing at the Caledonian Hotel, also in Edinburgh.
At Principal's Palace Hotel in Manchester, Marie Hall has been appointed as sales manager. Prior to this, Ms Hall worked for four years as sales manager at the Queen Hotel, Chester, also owned by the group.
Sheppard rises to senior partner
Property agent Robert Barry & Co has appointed John Sheppard as senior partner, from March. He will succeed Hugh Guillebaud, who has been senior partner since 1979.
Mr Guillebaud will continue as a partner at the firm's Cirencester office, but said he felt it was time "to pass the reins to a younger pair of hands".
Mervyn Cully continues as managing partner with particular responsibility for business development.
Shake-up in the senior ranks
Following the reorganisation of its management at the beginning of this year, London Catering Services has announced two new appointments.
Alison Armitage, previously senior functions manager with the company, has now been promoted to general manager of operations.
Nick James has succeeded her in the role of senior functions manager.
Prinsell thanks on Pizza hut UK
John Prinsell has taken up the position of president and chief executive officer for Pizza Hut UK.
Previously the president of PepsiCo Restaurants Europe, Mr Prinsell will replace Jay Willoughby, who is returning to the USA to rejoin Pizza Hut US.
An accolade for Gleneagles MD
Peter Lederer, managing director of the Gleneagles Hotel, has been made a fellow of the Scotish Vocational Education Council, the national body for vocational education in Scotland.
The appointment is in recognition of his contribution to the fields of education and training.
Grant joins Hilton national team
Hilton National has appointed Alan Grant to its senior management team as UK sales director. He joins from Initial Textile Services, an arm of BET, where he was executive director.
Based at Watford, Mr Grant will have direct responsibility for the UK regional sales team, business travel agents, group travel and Conferencelink.
