Ladbroke puts its money on Dyson

Ian Dyson has joined hotel-to-gaming company Ladbroke Group as financial controller. Mr Dyson was formerly finance director of Forte Hotels' international division.

At the same time, Mr Dyson will become vice-president and director of finance at the group's hotels subsidiary, Hilton International.

Van gestel caters for yates's needs

David van Gestel is to join Yates's Wine Lodges as regional catering manager. He will advise on food issues at the pub operator's branches throughout Yorkshire.

Mr van Gestel was previously assistant operations manager at Tom Cobleigh.

Holland crowned regal director

Simon Holland has been appointed director of food and beverage concepts for the Regal Group's 82 hotels. He was previously operations manager with Metro Diner, based in Bristol.

May flowers at PKF associates

Pannell Kerr Forster Associates has appointed Stuart May as chief executive of its hotel and leisure consultancy. Mr May was previously managing director of Forte Heritage Hotels.

Before his time at Forte, Mr May was managing director of the Rank Organisation's hotel and catering division for more than 10 years.

Other changes at PKFA include the appointment of Melvin Gold as a director. A former consultant with PKFA, Mr Gold returns to the firm after four years with commodity trader Glencore.

Blest is the best for Hanover

Allan Blest returns to the UK to take up the position of general manager at Kirtons Hotel, Reading, Berkshire, now owned by Hanover International.

Before this Mr Blest was general manager of the Imperial Hotel Cork in the Irish Republic, where he will continue to be managing director.

Mr Blest's spell in Cork followed time spent in Los Angeles as general manager of the St James Club and in Edinburgh as general manager of the Caledonian.

O'malley in move to Menzies

John O'Malley has joined Menzies Hotels & Leisure as operations director of the expanding Derbyshire-based group.

Mr O'Malley joins from Holiday Inn, the Bass division where he has worked for the past 18 years, most recently as general manager at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, Birmingham.
