Blue Print for Kelly's success
Geraldine Kelly has been promoted to restaurant manager at the Blue Print Café in Shad Thames, London.
Miss Kelly came to England from Dublin four years ago and worked at the Moat House in Reading, the Gloucester hotel in London and the Academy in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, before joining Conran Restaurants in March 1995.
She moves up to her new position from assistant restaurant manager.
The Blue Print Café, the second oldest of Conran Restaurants' establishments, is due to be refurbished in the New Year. The kitchen will be enlarged and part of the roof terrace glazed in.
Jurys names two top men to board
Jurys Hotel Group has appointed two members of its senior management team to the board of directors - Stan Cooney as development director, and Niall Geoghegan as marketing and sales director.
Mr Cooney, a qualified accountant, was previously development manager within the group. Mr Geoghegan joined Jurys as group marketing and sales manager three years ago.
Delafosse in Ritz takeover
Luc Delafosse becomes the new general manager of the Ritz hotel, London, tomorrow. Current general manager Tom O'Connell is leaving to take up the corresponding position at the Berkeley Court Hotel in Dublin.
Mr Delafosse comes to the Ritz from the Hotel Mirabeau in Monte Carlo, where he has been general manager since 1994. He has also previously worked at London's Savoy hotel, the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo and the Vista Palace Hotel in Roquebrune, France.
McGinn to oversee Europa quality
The new quality development manager at the Europa Hotel in Belfast is James McGinn. He recently completed a year as assistant food and beverage manager at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington DC.
Joining the Europa as deputy general manager is Robert Baker, formerly general manager at the Chequers hotel in Newbury, Berkshire.
Williams gets taste of Wales
Sandra Williams is the new business manager for the Taste of Wales initiative.
The scheme was established in 1991 to promote the Welsh food industry outside the country and improve the quality and availability of home produce in hotels and restaurants throughout Wales.
Miss Williams was previously an independent marketing consultant.
