ADRIAN PEARSON has been appointed general manager of the Millennium & Copthorne hotel

in Plymouth, Devon. He was deputy general manager of the Copthorne hotel in Birmingham.

FRANCO COPPOLA has joined the Marriott Manchester Hotel and Country Club in Worsley as manager of its Brindley's restaurant. He was restaurant and general manager of the Marcliffe hotel in Aberdeen.

MATTHEW BARRETT is the new operations manager for the Rainforest Cafés in London and Manchester. He was the central London area retail business manager for All Bar One.

JULIAN BOULTER has been appointed operations director of contract caterer

Star Catering Management, in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. He founded South African contract caterer Royal Food Services in 1990 and sold it two years ago. He remains a board director until his move.

MOIRA SNAPE has been appointed general manager of Sedgebrook Hall conference

centre in Northampton. She was general manager of Haley's hotel and restaurant in Leeds.

STUART NOBLE has taken over as general manager of the Copthorne hotel in Aberdeen. He was general manager of the Aberdeen Moat House hotel.

METTE HANSEN has been promoted to sales executive for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia at Rafael Hotels. She was sales co-ordinator for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.

LES RITSON has been appointed regional vice-president of operations for the UK and

Scandinavia at Bass Hotels and Resorts. He was vice-president of Crowne Plaza Europe.

ROY ATFIELD has retired from Eastbourne's Grand hotel after 45 years' continuous service. He was room service manager.

WAYNE BARCLAY has left the financial department of security firm Gardeners in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, to join the Marriott Manchester hotel and country club as financial controller.

SIMON BRADLEY has been appointed head of operations at the West Country

Tourist Board. Currently head of marketing at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, Devon, he takes up his new position on 21 February.

ONNO POORTIER has retired as director of corporate development and president of the Peninsula Group. He will remain an adviser to the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels board until June and, in a consultative capacity, as a director of the board of Peninsula International until the end of 2000.

DAVID CHAPMAN has joined Leisure Parcs as operations director, based in Blackpool.

He was operations director of Gala Leisure.

AILEEN MOODIE has left Capital Radio Restaurants, where she was training manager, to launch a freelance training business within the hospitality industry.

KEITH STEVENS has been appointed marketing director for Posthouse hotels. He was
