KEITH GRIFFITHS has left Briggens House Hotel in Hertfordshire, where he was general manager,

to take over as UK operations manager for Stannifer Hotels, based in Stratford upon Avon.

DAVID WELCH is the new general manager of the Crowne Plaza hotel in Edinburgh. He was general manager of Bosworth Hall Hotel in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

GRAHAM GOLBY, former general manager of the Birmingham Metropole Hotel, has joined Redcliffe Catering in Birmingham as a consultant.

MICHAEL RICHARDS has taken over as manager of the Monkbar Hotel in York. He was

previously deputy manager of the St Nicholas hotel in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

ATTILIO MARRO is the new general manager of the Palazzo Sasso in Ravello, Italy. He was food and beverage manager at the May Fair Inter-Continental hotel in London.

MARK STRETCH has been promoted to general manager of the Express by Holiday Inn hotel at the Birmingham NEC. He was deputy manager.

SIMON PEARCE has joined the Millennium Bailey's hotel in Kensington, west London, as general manager. He was general manager of the Regents Plaza and Suites Hotel in London.

JIM BUSBY has left his post as finance director for Macdonald Hotels to take over as the group's corporate development director. He has been succeeded by SCOTT CHRISTIE who was integration director at distiller UDV Operations in Edinburgh.

STEPHEN SWIRE is the new general manager of the Sopwell House Hotel Country Club and Spa in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He was general manager of Puckrup Hall Hotel and Golf Club in Puckrup, Gloucestershire.

JAMES WILSON has been appointed general manager of the City Inn in Glasgow, opening

in the spring. He was general manager of the Swallow Eden Arms Hotel in County Durham.

JANET HARPER has joined Chewton Place conference centre in Bath as conference planning manager. She worked for Stakis hotels in the same capacity.

RICHARD KING has also joined Chewton Place as head chef. He was head chef at Bristol City Football Club.

SUE ETHERINGTON has been promoted from director of sales at the Rubens hotel in London to national sales director of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection. She has been replaced at the Rubens by SUZANNE KHOURI, who was director of sales at the Montague hotel in London.

STEVE GARLEY has been appointed managing director for the UK and Europe at Sandals and Beaches Resorts. He was a managing director for tour operator Thomson Breakaway.

CLARE HICKIE has joined the Caribbean hotel group Elegant Hotels as product training executive. She was an overseas representative for Kuoni.

CHRISTINE VESPERMANN has taken over as director of sales and marketing at the Almenara

hotel at Sotogrande, on the Costa del Sol. She was director of sales and marketing at the Marbella Club Hotel in Marbella, Spain.e of style
