DANIEL TONNER has joined the University Arms hotel in Cambridge as executive chef. He was formerly a relief chef for Quality Link recruitment in Glasgow.

ANTONY PENNY has taken over as general manager of the North Lakes hotel in Penrith, Cumbria. He was general manager of its sister hotel, the Crown, in Wetheral, Cumbria.

AMANDA RAVEY has become human resources director of the Whitbread Hotel Company, based in Luton, Bedfordshire. She was compensation and benefits director.

RAY BIGGER has been recruited as senior sales director for Hilton Hotels International, based in Singapore. He was vice-president of sales and marketing for Marco Polo Hotels.

DAVID TAYLOR has been appointed director of sales at Paramount Hotels. He was previously director of travel trade sales at Hilton Hotels, in London.

WILLIAM LEES-JONES has been promoted to joint managing director of brewer JW Lees & Co. He was previously responsible for the company's sales and marketing and its Willoughby's wine and spirits division.

DAVID CORKHILL is the new general manager of the Westerwood Hotel and Country Club in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire. He was general manager of the Clowance Estate and Country Club in Cornwall.

CLARE PARKINSON has been appointed sales director for business caterer BaxterSmith. She was previously a sales director for Baxter & Platts.

CHARLES CORMACK has taken over as group marketing co-ordinator for the Wren's Hotel Group. He will continue as general manager of Cringletie House hotel in Peebles, Scotland.

VIVIENNE WILLISON is the new director of sales at the Millennium Knightsbridge hotel in London. She was a director of sales for Hilton Hotels.

WAYNE DAVIS has been promoted to director of sales and marketing at the Westbury hotel in Mayfair, London, part of the Harrington Hall Group. He was director of sales and marketing at the Harrington Hall hotel in London.

CARL DAVIES, a former chef for contract caterer Sodexho, has retired. He worked with Sodexho, formerly Gardner Merchant, for 43 years, latterly as a chef at Johnson Controls in Solihull, West Midlands.

MARIE BANNATYNE has joined Harrington Hall hotel in South Kensington, London, as sales co-ordinator. She was a room sales executive at the Jarvis International Regents Park hotel.
