Marketing reshuffle at inter-continental
Inter-continental Hotels has reshuffled its senior sales and marketing team, taking on Michael Prager, former vice-president of sales in Europe for Radisson Edwardian Hotels.
Mr Prager joined Inter-Continental this week as vice-president of sales, planning and development.
He has taken the reins from Adrian Simpson, who is now vice-president of marketing and sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr Simpson's predecessor, Mike Stajdel, has been promoted to the newly created post of senior vice-president of marketing and strategic planning. The moves follow a reorganisation seven months ago, when Robert Collier was promoted to joint managing director.
Hilton shuffles its managers
Two general managers have been moved between hotels at Hilton National.
David Kanarens has moved to the Hilton National Leeds Garforth, where he has taken over from former general manager Stephen Hornsby, who is now running the chain's new hotel in Milton Keynes.
Mr Kanarens was previously general manager for three years at the chain's property in Livingston, Lothian.
Restaurant first for Hughes
BrightReasons has appointed Jenny Hughes as the first brand manager in charge of its three restaurant chains.
Ms Hughes is responsible for marketing of the Pizzaland, Bella Pasta and Pizza Piazza chains, which together have nearly 170 outlets. She reports to the company's marketing director Michael Ryan, who joined in May.
This is Ms Hughes's first position within the restaurant industry. She previously carried out a marketing role at Rank Hovis McDougall.
Hayman moves to north Kent
MARK Hayman, national secretary of the Hospital Caterers Association, has taken up the newly created post of deputy director of facilities for North Kent Healthcare Trust in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Mr Hayman spent 14 years at West Norwich Hospital, rising to the post of hotel services manager for the Norfolk and Norwich Healthcare Trust.
Wallace back at the Harewood
Helen Wallace has reassumed her position as general manager of the 87-bedroom Harewood Hotel in London.
Ms Wallace left the hotel in January 1993, after a year as general manager, and joined Hilton International's Sherlock Holmes Hotel in London as deputy general manager.
During her time there, the Harewood Hotel underwent a £750,000 refurbishment, and was rebranded as part of the Clubhouse Hotels group, which also has properties in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, and Brussels.
Mckie joins pret a manger
Rod McKie is the new operations director for sandwich bar chain Prêt à Manger, which is due to open its 24th outlet at the end of the month.
Mr McKie has spent the past two years as an operations manager for Premier House, where he was in charge of 10 Henry's Café Bars and three Quincey's bar and grills.
