McKevitt lands CCH golf role

Richard McKevitt has been appointed to the dual role of executive director of Hanbury Manor Hotel Country Club Resort near Ware, Hertfordshire, and operations director for golf for the Country Club Hotel Group (CCH).

His appointment follows the group's purchase of a 26% stake in Hanbury Manor, announced earlier this month.

Mr McKevitt, who was previously operations director with Country Club, joins Patrick Hedderman, Hanbury Manor's new hotel operations manager.

Kett gets seven-year itch

Russell Kett has been appointed director of consultancy for Hospitality Valuation Services International.

Mr Kett has spent the past seven years with Touche Ross, most recently as an associate. He has also been chairman of the British Association of Hotel Accountants for the past six years.

Recruitment firm adds trio

Three new consultants are to join London-based recruitment firm Lister Charles Partnership, which has just relocated to Covent Garden.

They are Ian Ruddlesden, currently recruitment manager for pub operator JD Wetherspoon, Nicola Loman, operations manager at Statens sandwich bar in London, and Zoey Holmes, sous chef at the Green Park Hotel, London.

Halliday catering swoops for smith

Colin Smith is to take up the position of operations manager of family-run Halliday Catering, based in Camberley, Surrey.

Mr Smith was previously general manager for Compass Services at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich. His appointment comes as Halliday plans to expand by 15% over the coming year.

Moran moves up at stakis

Shaun Moran has taken up the post of senior assistant manager at the Stakis London Harewood, formerly known as the Harewood Hotel.

Mr Moran was previously training and personnel manager at the Stakis Northampton Hotel. In his new post he joins general manager Helen Wallace, who retained her position following the acquisition of the Harewood from Brussels-based City Hotels in October.

Contract success brings promotion

NEIL Owens has been promoted to operations manager for catering at the Salford direct service organisations, Citywide and Cityleisure Services.

The promotion follows Citywide's success in winning the borough's school and welfare catering contract for a further five years. Mr Owens was previously catering contract manager.

Bell purchases hotel in Holland

Sherril Bell, who was previously guest relations manager at the Selsdon Park Hotel in Croydon, Surrey, has bought a 19-bedroom hotel in Middelharnis, in the Netherlands.

Ms Bell's new venture, the Hotel De Parel Van De Delta, has its own 80-seat restaurant.
