All change at allied domecq

Jeremy Greville Williams has been appointed regional director at Alloa Pubs and Restaurants, part of Allied Domecq Retailing, based in Edinburgh.

Mr Greville Williams moves from another Allied Domecq business, Taylor Walker, where he spent 13 years, most recently as retail director. Replacing him is marketing projects director James Farquharson.

Mr Farquharson is, in turn, replaced by Peter Borg-Neal who is promoted from marketing manager.

International post for cozzo

Franco Cozzo, vice-president of Forte's Exclusive hotels in Paris and general manager of the Plaza Athénée, has been appointed director of Forte International.

Stepping into his shoes as vice-president for Paris is Peter Birchall, former managing director of Ciga Hotels in Spain, who also becomes general manager of the George V.

At the Plaza Athénée, Hervé Houdré takes up the position of general manager. Mr Houdré previously ran the Crillon, also in Paris.

Meanwhile, Jean-Didier Blanchet, head of Méridien when it was taken over by Forte last year, has been appointed a non-executive director of both Forte France and Sogerba, Forte's roadside subsidiary. He also becomes vice-chairman of Méridien.

Nicoll takes helm at sedgebrook

Brenda Nicoll has been appointed general manager of Sedgebrook Hall, the £10m residential conference centre in Northampton owned by Hayley Enterprises.

Ms Nicoll, who has spent the past five years as purchasing manager at the Swallow Royal in Bristol, replaces Norman Bellone. Mr Bellone is to run Hayley's new Ettington Chase centre, opening near Stratford- upon-Avon in September.

Leaver quits city job for whitbread

Carl Leaver has joined Whitbread's Country Club Hotel Group as director of sales, reporting to operations director Grant Hearn.

Mr Leaver, who once worked as a senior national account manager with Forte, joins from Nomura International, where he worked in equity derivatives sales.

Hay wins national responsibility

ROBIN Hay has been promoted to the position of managing director of CCG's education services throughout the UK.

Mr Hay was formerly managing director for education services for the company's southern region.

New recruits for London outlet

Jill O'Sullivan has taken up the post of manager of Avenue West Eleven restaurant in London's Notting Hill Gate, which opened about a year ago.

Ms O'Sullivan, who has spent the past 18 months travelling after a spell as manager of Ransome's Dock, at Battersea, is joined at Avenue West Eleven by Mark Broadbent, who becomes head chef.

Mr Broadbent was previously head chef at Wild World in London's Hammersmith.

JOANNA Cumming, managing director of the Pelican Group's Café Rouge brand, to the company's main board. Also joining as non-executive director is Barry Hardy, finance director of casino group London Clubs International.

ELIZABETH LEONARD to director of sales for the Holiday Inn Garden Court, Glasgow, due to open next January, from a similar position at the Glasgow Hilton.

MICHAEL HINSON to general manager, Oaklands Hotel, Norwich, from a similar position at the White Hart Hotel, Lewes, East Sussex.

HAMISH YOUNG to general manager at My Kinda Town's new restaurant, the Abingdon, in London's Kensington, from assistant manager at the Criterion, Piccadilly Circus.

DAVID HAWORTH to brands training manager, Whitbread Inns, from training and development manager, Village Leisure Hotels.

ALYSON PLAYFORD to general manager, UK, Ireland and the Middle East, for Utell International, from group sales and marketing director, Park Hotels.

JANET LYNCH to sales manager, key accounts, Friendly Hotels, from corporate sales manager, Great Western Royal Hotel, Paddington, London.

SHAUN TREACY to director of marketing, Grand Hyatt Taipei, China, from director of the hotel's rooms division.

MICHAEL GIBB to general manager of the Excelsior, Hong Kong, from executive vice-president and general manager of the Mandarin Oriental, Manila.

Robbie Brown is moving to James Paget Hospital NHS Trust in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, not as stated in News, 22 June.
