Orr-Ewing back at Montcalm Hotel

Jonathan Orr-Ewing, who was general manager of London's Montcalm Hotel Nikko for eight years in the 1980s, has returned to the 120-bedroom hotel in the same role.

Since leaving the hotel, he opened and ran London's Pelham hotel for a year and managed the Capital for four years, before managing Goodwood Park Hotel in West Sussex for a year.

His predecessor (and successor) at the Montcalm, Gerhard Schaller, has left to run the Hotel Nikko in Mexico City.

Replacing Mr Orr-Ewing at Goodwood Park is Tom Perez, former general manager at the Edgwarebury Hotel, Elstree, Hertfordshire.

Buchanan joins oxford team

Andrew Buchanan, general manager for the past year at Forte's Westbury hotel in London, has transferred to the same post at the Randolph in Oxford.

He replaces Vivien Sirotkin, who has left the company to take a sabbatical.

This follows a similar exercise on bedrooms and public areas.

The hotel, which is expected to become part of Forte's Méridien brand, also has a new deputy general manager. Andrew Hickey was previously food and beverage manager at London's Selfridge hotel.

At the Westbury, Sergio Mangini has taken the helm. Mr Mangini, previously resident manager at Le Méridien Montparnasse in Paris, will oversee the conversion of the hotel to the Méridien brand over the next few months.
