Hotels

The five-star, 95-bedroom Lanesborough in London has taken on Duncan Pitfield as director of food and beverage. He will be in charge of the Conservatory restaurant and the Library Bar. His previous post was as deputy general manager of the Chesterfield hotel in London.

Welbourn

Moat House Hotels has promoted Matthew Welbourn as operations director for the East of England. He was most recently general manager of both the York and Harrogate Moat House hotels.

The new events manager at the 43-bedroom Ramada Jarvis hotel in Hull is Leslie Robinson. She was formerly restaurant manager at the Palace hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire.

Restaurants

The 125-seat Bush Bar and Grill in London has taken on a new head chef, Wayne Dixon, who previously worked as senior sous chef at Quaglino's, London.

Martel Smith, former owner of Restaurant Martel in Gateforth, North Yorkshire, has been appointed head chef by No.3 York Place in Leeds, West Yorkshire. No.3 York Place, which has 52 seats, recently changed its name from Guellers Restaurant.

Contract catering

The refreshment services division of Aramark has appointed Helen Priestley general manager at its Wakefield branch. Helen has worked for Aramark for 19 years, most recently as operations manager for the food services division in the North.

Sophie was previously the PR and events manager at the Restaurant Association. Recruitment consultancy Portfolio International has welcomed three new recruits. Simon Tucker Brown, previously a recruitment consultant at Quest Elite, joins as a senior consultant; Hassan Yousaf, a former recruitment consultant at Reed, joins as a recruitment consultant; and Lucy Shaw joins as a recruitment consultant co-ordinator. She previously worked as a customer services operator at Mark Warner.
