Adrian Carr has joined the three-star, 58-bedroom Elizabeth Orwell hotel in Felixstowe, Suffolk, as head chef. Adrian previously workedas senior chef de partie at the Savoy Grill in London.

The five-star, 200-bedroom De Vere Grand hotel in Brighton, East Sussex, has welcomed Fernando Soler-Lopez as manager of its King's restaurant. He leaves his position as restaurant manager at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Opening in September is the 43-bedroom Hotel du Vin & Bistro in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Joining as director and

general manager is Stephen Watson, former general manager of Littlecote Manor hotel in Hungerford, Wiltshire. Donna Penberthy also leaves Littlecote Manor to become house manager. Donna previously worked as assistant admin manager. Leaving their jobs at the Hotel du Vin in Bristol to join the Hotel du Vin in Harrogate are Adrian Leuiller, formerly assistant bar manager, and Michael Altur, previously assistant sommelier. They both receive promotions: Adrian to bar manager and Michael to chef sommelier. Joining from the Hotel du Vin Winchester is Gareth Longhurst, who will be the head chef, and Alison Carr, who takes up the role of reception manager. Both Gareth and Alison previously held the same positions. From the Hotel du Vin Bristol is Phil Brown, previously assistant manager, who will be the new hotel's deputy general manager. The Hotel du Vin in Harrogate has also recruited Joanne Meadows and Jean Roberts, both from the Hilton hotel in Leeds. Jean has been appointed head housekeeper. She previously worked in the same role. Joanne will be managing the bistro and leaves her job as restaurant manager. ### Pubs and bars JD Wetherspoon has recently opened a new Lloyds No 1 bar, the Willow Grove, in Southport, Merseyside, and a new pub, the Saracen's Head in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Managing the Willow Grove is Lisa Adamzyck, formerly manager of the Lloyds No 1 bar in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Neil Fawkes is the new manager of the Saracen's Head. He has left his role as deputy manager at the Oadby pub in Leicester. ### Plus… John Dent will take on his new role as South West Tourism's head of strategy and development on 1 September. John has been working for the organisation as a temporary project manager for the past two months.
