De Vere Group has promoted Suzanne Whitelaw to the newly created position of marketing executive for three of the group's flagship hotels: the Cavendish St James in London, the Belfry in North Warwickshire and Cameron House in Dunbartonshire. Suzanne was previously marketing executive for the company's De Vere Hotels and Village Hotels & Leisure Clubs brands.

The four-star, 143-bedroom ValeHotel, Golf and Country Club in Hensol, Vale of Glamorgan, has made three new
appointments in readiness for the opening of its second golf course in June. Michelle Hill joins as financial controller. She previously held the same post for Marriott Hotel's south coast area. Mark Crabbe takes over as restaurant manager after leaving the Le Monde restaurant in Cardiff where he held the same position. Adele Tibbott takes on the role of sales manager. Adele was formerly sales co-ordinator at the Marriott Cardiff hotel. ### Restaurants The 120-seat Pharmacy restaurant in London's Notting Hill has welcomed Bruno Asselin as restaurant manager and head sommelier. Bruno joins the one AA-rosette restaurant from the Pied à Terre restaurant in central London. Monsoon, a 70-seat Indian restaurant, opened recently in Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, with Fred Latif as restaurant manager and Maznu Miah as chef. Fred was the former manager at the Raj restaurant in Wendover, Buckinghamshire. Maznu was previously the chef-proprietor of an Indian restaurant in Newbury, Berkshire. Fishworks in Chiswick, London, opened recently with Pavla Haylock as restaurant manager and Jack Scarterfield as head chef. Pavla joins the 75-seat seafood restaurant after leaving her teaching job in the Czech Republic. Jack was formerly sous chef at the Fishworks restaurant in Bath. ### Plus… VisitBritain, the new organisation formed by the merger of the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourism Council, has appointed Michael Bedingfield as its England marketing director.
