Cormac O'Hara has been appointed general manager of the four-star, 154-bedroom Holiday Inn Oxford. He previously held the same role at the Holiday Inn High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The four-star, 143-bedroom Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Hensol, South Glamorgan, has seen two internal moves. Judy Rose, formerly senior events coordinator, has become events liaison manager, and Kathryn Smith has quit her post as reservations manager to become revenue manager. Barbados-based Elegant Hotels Group has recruited Jennifer Barrow as direcor of sales and marketing. Jennifer's previous role was regional manager for the UK and Ireland for the Barbados Tourist Authority. ### Plus… The TLH Leisure Resort, a holiday complex with two- and three-star accommodation in Torquay, Devon, has a new marketing manager, Julia Shervington. Julia comes from the Castle Mall shopping and leisure centre in Norwich, Norfolk, where she held the same position. The Rank Group has appointed Hamish Dodds as president and chief executive officer of its Hard Rock division, based in Florida, USA. Hamish joins from American drinks bottler CABCORP, where he had been chief executive officer since 2002. London-based C and M Recruitment has welcomed Efrem Leigh as recruitment consultant for its hotels division. Efrem joins from hospitality jobs website Voovs.com, where he was a director.

Sport and entertainment venues operator SMG Europe has a new food and beverage director. Kevan Hodges has more than 13 years' experience in licensed retail, having previously been operations director for Scottish & Newcastle. The European Modern Restaurant Association has appointed Kai Boschmann as its new chairperson. Kai, who is senior communications director for Burger King International, succeeds Roland Higgns, former communications director of Quick Restaurants, who has been chairperson since 2002. American consulting company Ideas has recruited Kim Yuskiewicz to join its hospitality sales team. Joining as director of corporate sales for the Americas, Kim has 20 years' experience in the hospitality industry. She was previously director of strategic accounts for Atlanta-based SoftBrands Hospitality, a software solutions provider.
