Scotland's 209-bedroom St Andrews Bay Golf Resort & Spa in Fife has appointed Catherine Haldane national sales account manager. Catherine was previously assistant director of sales for conference and events at the Hilton London Metropole, and will remain in the capital for her new role.

Two senior appointments have been made at the Express by Holiday Inn Canterbury. The 89-bedroom Kent hotel has a new general manager - Chris Ross - and a new deputy manager - Darren Barrett. Both were previously general managers, Chris at the Ipswich Travel Inn, Suffolk, and Darren at the London City Travelodge.

The 301-bedroom London Marriott West India Quay hotel, due to open in June, has welcomed Nila Schreiber as resident manager. Nila previously held the same role at the Lisbon Marriott hotel in Portugal.

The three-red-star Middlethorpe Hall hotel in York has a new general manager. Frenchman Lionel Chatard joins the 30-bedroom Georgian hotel from London's Cadogan Hotel, where he held the same position. Hanan Sheshtawi has joined the Abu Dhabi Grand hotel as director of finance, overseeing the rebranding of the property to Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi. The 187-bedroom hotel will grow to 264 bedrooms with the opening of a new extension in May. Egypt-born Hanan's last role was director of finance and customer service for El Torito Restaurants in California, USA. The 37-bedroom Villa La Massa in Florence, Italy, has appointed Francesca Tozzi as resident manager. Francesca formerly worked at the hotel's sister property, the Hotel Villa d'Este on Lake Como, as rooms division manager. ### Plus…
