Gadet

The five-star, 188-bedroom Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh has promoted Pascal Gadet to the position of resident manager. Pascal was formerly F&B director for the hotel.

Glenn Ellie has joined the 38-bedroom Harbour Heights hotel in Poole, Dorset, as executive head chef. He was previously head chef at the hotel's sister property the Haven hotel, also in Poole.

Sharon Love has been promoted to the position of general manager at the five-star, 45-bedroom Royal Crescent hotel in Bath. Sharon was previously the hotel's deputy general manager.

Assem Sweidan, Emma Andrews and Daniele Giraud have joined the 216-bedroom London Marriott Hotel Kensington, which will officially open next month. Assem has taken on the role of operations manager. He previously held the same position at the Leeds Marriott Hotel. Emma has joined as sales and marketing manager from the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel in Maidstone, Kent, where she had the same role. Daniele has become the restaurant and bar manager after leaving his room manager position at the Le Méridien Grosvenor House hotel in London.

Restaurants

The two AA-rosette London restaurant Just St James has recruited Jamie Younger as head chef. Before James joined the 120-seat restaurant he was head chef at London's Teatro restaurant.

Pubs and bars

Nick Backhouse has joined the board of the Laurel Pub Company as chief financial officer. Nick previously held the same position at internet service provider Freeserve.
