Corus Hotels has appointed Gerry Parson head of travel trade sales. He joins the 75-strong hotel chain from the Kensington Close hotel in London, where he was director of sales.

The 200-bedroom York Moat House hotel has welcomed Philip Counsell as general manager, following its recent refurbishment. Philip was the former regional general manager for Hilton Hotels in Yorkshire.

Richard Bell has been appointed leisure club manager at the new health club at the 151-bedroom Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Richard joins the hotel from the Fitness First health club in Wakefield, where he was a sales executive.

The five-star, 83-bedroom Chester Grosvenor hotel in Cheshire has taken on Joanne Givens as manager of its new spa, due to open in May. She was previously senior spa therapist at the Emerson Inn & Spa in Mount Tremper, USA.

operations manager at the Hilton Bradford in West Yorkshire. ### Restaurants Diverso, a 90-seat Italian restaurant in London's Mayfair, has appointed Daniele Pampagnin head chef. He previously held the same position at Riso Restaurant in London. Nick Claypole has joined the new 134-seat Frankie & Benny's restaurant in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, which is due to open next week. He was previously a deputy manager for the 77-strong restaurant chain. ### Plus…

Simon Gillott has joined Sterling Foodservice Design, a catering consultancy to the hotel, foodservice and leisure industries, based in Birmingham, as a consultant. Simon was the former projects director at catering equipment suppliers Spectrum Contracts. SRS-Worldhotels, a hotels sales, marketing and reservations consortium, has appointed Christian Fiederer to the role of vice president, sales and marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Christian joins the company from Le Méridien, where he was regional director of sales and marketing.
