Simon Briggs has joined Paramount Hotels as personnel and training manager for the four-star, 96-bedroom Stirling Highland hotel. He leaves his position as human resources manager for Corus Hotels in Glasgow.

Le Méridien has appointed Anna Dowling general manager of the five-star, 303-bedroom Le Méridien Piccadilly hotel and Café Royal conference centre in London. was general manager at the group's Christopher hotel in Eton, Berkshire, has joined the three-star, 90-bedroom flagship hotel, Sir Christopher Wren's House in Windsor, Berkshire, as general manager. Leaving Sir Christopher Wren's House is former deputy general manager Edward Leenders, who has been promoted to general manager at the Cerf Island Marine Park Resort in the Seychelles. Mel Barisic has joined Adriatic Luxury Hotels, the company's portfolio of Croatian hotels, as pre-opening management co-ordinator. He will support the launch of the 320-bedroom Dubrovnik Palace hotel at the end of the year. The five-star, 263-bedroom Savoy hotel in London has promoted Lionel Benjamin to director of hotel operations, a role that encompasses the duties of deputy general manager. He was previously the hotel's banqueting manager. ### Contract catering Holroyd Howe has appointed David Spoors area manager for Greater London. He was previously operations manager for the same area for Yes Dining. The Bupa Hospital in Washington, Tyne and Wear, has recruited a new chef, Mark Thompson. Mark joins the private hospital from the Village Hotel & Leisure Club in Newcastle upon Tyne. ### Plus… Neil Gillis, managing director of Greene King Pub Company, will leave the pub operator at the end of the month to become chief executive of health club operator Esporta.
