Corus Hotels has promoted Rachael Brindley to the role of meetings and events sales manager. Rachael, who will work from home in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was previously area account manager for the Midlands. Corus Hotels has also welcomed Michele Poli as e-marketing executive. Michele joins the company from Folens Publishers, where she was a marketing development executive. Tracey Boreham has joined the five-star, 266-bedroom Le Méridien Piccadilly hotel and the Café Royal conference centre in London. She has taken on the role of director of sales, and moves to the hotel from the company's Grosvenor House hotel, where she was director of conference and incentive sales. Ian Thomas has been appointed head of national accounts at Moat House Hotels. He was formerly senior customer manager for Kraft Foods Europe. Ren Buss has joined Golden Tulip UK as finance director. She previously worked as IT and systems director at Aramark. ### Restaurants The Berkeley-Square-Café in Mayfair, London, opened earlier this week with Steven Black as chef/patron. Steven was the former chef at London's One-Seven-Nine Shaftesbury Avenue restaurant. His wife Merete Black will managed the 75-seat restaurant, along with Joseph McColgan, both of whom worked as managers at One-Seven-Nine. ### Pubs and bars Scottish and Newcastle will have a new chief executive from 12 May - Tony Froggatt. Tony's most recent position was as executive president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for drinks company Seagram Group. ### Plus…
