Police offer reward for Bolton arsonist

Police are offering a £20,000 reward to catch an arsonist who started a fire in a Bolton hotel that killed two elderly hotel guests.

William Robertson, 75, and his wife Margaret, 81, from Blackpool, died when three mattresses, which were propped up against the wall outside their room, were set on fire at the Bolton Moat House hotel on 24 April.

Fifty firefighters and eight fire engines battled to bring the blaze at the 115-bedroom hotel under control. Police interviewed a man in June in connection with the arson but later released him without charge.
