Police seek chef after series of burglaries

Northamptonshire police are warning hoteliers and caterers to be on their guard following a spate of reported burglaries.

A police spokesman said: "All the burglaries have happened at premises where they have advertised for a new chef.

"We believe the same man to be responsible for a number of thefts in our area. He is a qualified chef who has been employed at a number of hotels and then left after a few days."

He is described as 6ft 1in tall, aged 28, having tanned skin, shaved blonde hair, broadly built and speaking with a slight Australian accent. He has a tattoo on his upper left arm and is believed to be driving a P-registration green-coloured Citroen Saxo.

Anyone who thinks they may have employed the man or interviewed him for advertised chef posts, or knows where he is, should call Oundle police on 01536 400400.
