Portsmouth Walkabout Bar up for sale
The administrators of Regent Inns have placed one of the failed pub company's Walkabout sites on the market for £175,000.
BDO Stoy Hayward has instructed property agent Christie & Co to sell the Walkabout Bar in Portsmouth, which comprises an open-plan trading area with capacity for over 730 people, an external 30-cover seating area and space on the first floor that is currently unused.
Anthony Jenkins, associate director at Christie & Co, said: "Close to a number of university faculty buildings and student halls of residences, the bar's location should appeal to a numbers of high-street operators. We have already received enquiries from a number of interested parties, despite the business having only just become available."
Regent Inns, which also owned the Jongleurs and Old Orleans brands, collapsed into administration last October, a year after reporting record losses of £58.1m.
A number of its sites were snapped up by newly formed company Intertain, managed by Regent Inns' former directors John Leslie and Mike Foster and by Mike Dowell, from Pitcher & Piano.
