Marston buys Hellidon Lakes hotel
The Hellidon Lakes Hotel, Golf and Country club in Daventry, Northamptonshire, has been sold for a figure understood to be close to £12m. The Marston Hotels group has bought the property, which has 71-bedrooms and planning permission for a further 40. The 240-acre site includes 18-hole and 9-hole golf courses. Christie & Co was the agent.
Farmer's market
The Farmer's Arms hotel and restaurant in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, has been sold for close to £825,000. The property has 18 letting bedrooms, a conference suite for 40, a 60-seat restaurant and a three-bedroom manager's flat. Christie & Co was the agent.
Idyllic purchase
The South Kingennie House restaurant in Kellas, near Dundee, has been sold for almost £250,000. The restaurant seats 40, along with a further 30 in the conservatory and 40 more in the lounge bar. The building also includes three letting bedrooms, which were previously unused. The new owner is the Idyllic Inns group and Robert Barry & Co was the agent.
At the Helme
Newcomer John Wheeler has bought the Helme Park Country House hotel in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, for nearly £675,000. The 650-year-old hotel has 13 bedrooms and a 28-seat restaurant. Former owner Chris Close has retired because of ill health. Christie & Co was the agent.
All For One
Musketeer Pubs has bought the freehold of the Rose and Crown Inn in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, for almost £895,000. The 16-bedroom inn has been owned by the Watson family for more than 43 years. The pub will be operated by the Merchant Administration Group on behalf of Musketeer. Robert Barry & Co was the agent.
