Receivers put Dukes hotel up for sale

Dukes, the Bath hotel that went into voluntary administration earlier this year, is for sale. The joint administrative receivers, Nick O'Reilly and Maurice Moses of chartered accountants Numerica, are selling the property through agent Knight Frank.

They are seeking offers based on a guide price of £2.5m for the Grade I-listed townhouse property. The deadline for offers is 12pm on Wednesday 2 July.

The hotel comprises a reception and residents' lounge, two function rooms, 17 bedrooms and suites, Fitzroy's restaurant, a residents' bar and a garden.

Dukes was owned by Sebastian and Philippa Hughes, of Chase Hotels, until it went into voluntary administration in March. Last year they sold Blinis, their two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Bath, in order to focus on Dukes and their other two hotels: the 18-bedroom Holne Chase on Dartmoor, Devon and the 17-bedroom St Olaves in Exeter, Devon.
