Restaurants rated a good night out
Restaurants are the first choice for a good night's entertainment though visits are still relatively infrequent, a Gallup survey of leisure activities has found.
Of those questioned, 55% chose going to a restaurant over any other leisure activity. The survey found, however, that a third of all adults visit restaurants less than once a month in the evening.
Lunchtime visits are more regular, with only a fifth of adults eating lunch in a restaurant less than once a month.
The survey questioned about 1,000 people on what they thought made a good night's entertainment for a report by business information company Key Note. The report, UK Leisure and Recreation, costs £375 from Key Note and can be obtained on 0181-783 0755.
