Restaurateur told: Rip it out

A restaurateur who built a conservatory on to his premises to increase seating, and only afterwards applied for retrospective planning permission, has been told to rip down the extension and start again.

Steve Pirelli of Tarantino's restaurant in Ilchester, Somerset, has been told by planners that the building, which is made mainly of uPVC, is of an inappropriate appearance for the centre of the historic Roman town.
