The Retro coffeemaker is a replica of a traditional 1850s brewing device based on balancing siphons. Water in the can is heated by flame and mixed with ground coffee in the handblown glass. The balancing mechanism lifts the empty can and the flame extinguishes automatically. The vacuum created then draws the coffee through a filter and into the can. The machines are available in two sizes, 600cc and one-litre, and three designs, Uni, Design and Classic. Design and Classic models come in five finishes - copper, silver effect, brass, silver, and gold plate - while Uni is in silver effect and all can be engraved with an establishment's logo. Matching single and double triades are available for holding sugar, milk, cream and petits fours. Price: from £145 Available from: [Coffeehouse
