Sandwich innovation

A key improvement in the latest version of the Snackstation hot snack vendor are the siliconised paper bags into which sandwiches are pre-packed prior to loading. The machine's refrigerated storage section holds up to 140 sandwiches in two stainless-steel carousels. The bags are designed to avoid any tendency to stick when the sandwiches - still in their bags - are toasted between two heated grill plates.

Machines are priced at £7400 or can be leased with payback possible on sales of just 20 sandwiches per day. Caterers operating a machine can fill it with their own product or buy from the growing number of manufacturers - such as Ginsters - which are now making Snackstation-suitable products.
