Scottish licensed businesses urged to remember ID law change
Licensed businesses in Scotland have been urged to remember a change in the law from 1 October, which means they must ask for ID from anyone who appears to be under the age of 25.
The British Hospitality Association (BHA) reminded businesses that although the law remains that they are not allowed to sell or permit alcohol to be consumed by under 18s, they must ask for ID from anyone who appears to be under 25 if they are supplying or selling alcohol to them, and be able to prove that they have done this.
