Second Swiss opening for Kempinski
Germany-based five-star hotel operator Kempinski Hotels and Resorts today announced its second hotel in Switzerland in two months.
Kempinski has taken over the management of the 81-bedroom Le Mirador Kempinski in Vevey, a privately owned resort hotel above Lake Geneva that contains the Michelin-starred La Trianon restaurant.
It follows the opening last month of the 184-bedroom Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in St Moritz, a ski resort the group has leased for 20 years from a consortium of Austrian investors.
Most of Kempinski's 36 hotels are management contracts, apart from the owned Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich and the leased Adlon in Berlin, recently rebranded the Adlon Kempinski.
Upcoming management contracts include, from April, the 110-bedroom Kempinski Hotel Nikopolis in Thessaloniki, Greece, and, from May, the 184-bedroom Kempinski Grand Hotel in Heilgendamm, Germany.
