Selling Nessie is a monster success story
The 20-bedroom Drumna-drochit Hotel in Loch Ness is claiming a 10% boost in turn-over in the year since it launched its own marketing company.
Loch Ness Marketing began life last February as an extension of the hotel business, but has since become a company in its own right.
Run by marketing director Willie Cameron, with hotel owners Fraser and Jackie Campbell, the company was founded to attract corporate customers following the success of the feature film Loch Ness.
By offering a "resourcing service" to anyone wishing to use the area for location shooting, Loch Ness Marketing has attracted 25 TV companies, including a crew from Blind Date and the makers of a German pop video.
"We must have brought in an extra £60,000-worth of business to the area as a whole," Mr Cameron told Caterer.
