SFI growth continues
Pub operator SFI has announced "exceptional" growth in turnover and pre-tax profits for the year ending 31 May. Turnover for the group was up by 87% to £115.2m, compared with £61.8m last year. Pre-tax profits were up from £9.8m in 2000 to £16.4m this year, showing an increase of 67%. Tony Hill, executive chairman of SFI, said the results were achieved through new acquisitions and effective management. SFI added 24 branded outlets to its portfolio this year, including 12 Litten Trees and 9 Bar Meds. A further 39 outlets were added through acquisition. The company plans to open a further 30 bars this year. Hill was optimistic about further growth. "The platform for the business to continue its historic rate of growth is in place and we are confident of continuing to deliver in the future," he said.
