Six Continents sells Lincoln Posthouse

The Lincoln Posthouse hotel has been sold by Six Continents for about £2.75m to local landowners Christopher Nevile and Elizabeth Arnold.

The 70-bedroom hotel, opposite Lincoln Cathedral, is one of a series of Posthouses that agent Christie & Co has sold on behalf of Six Continents. Another five are on the market in Stockton-on-Tees, Croydon, Dover, Nottingham and Manchester.

Six Continents bought the 79-strong Posthouse chain in April 2001 and has converted about 62 to the Holiday Inn brand so far. Private owners will not be able to trade under the Posthouse name, which is now owned by Six Continents. The company intends to stop using the name.
