Skyline tackles flight cancellations

Heathrow Airport's Sheraton Skyline hotel said today that airline cancellations to and from the USA meant that guests who did not arrive were being replaced by those that could not get a flight out.

Mary Casey, general manager at the hotel, which is part of the Starwood group, said: "We are getting cancellations from local corporates who expected to put up American guests and from those who planned to stay overnight for early flights.

"But these are being replaced by guests extending their stays because they can't get a flight out. At the moment these are balancing one another out."

Flights to and from the USA are still grounded becayse of yesterday's terrorist attacks.

Casey added that most guests had only booked one extra night, indicating that they hoped to travel back tomorrow.
