Mark hotel
Hotel group Mandarin Oriental, which owns the Mark hotel in New York, said this week that occupancies there had fallen sharply in the wake of the terrorist attack. In line with other hotels in the city, the Mark was full for two or three days immediately following the disaster, but then saw occupancies plummet. Occupancies at the group's London hotel in Knightsbridge were also sharply down last week to about 60%, 10% lower than its forecast before the attacks. It is understood that occupancies in the group's San Francisco hotel are also down, largely because many of its regular guests are visiting New Yorkers and they are not travelling. None of the staff from the Mark was killed or injured in the attack, a spokeswoman said.
