Spice up your trophy cabinet

If you fancy your skill with spices, start practising now for the International Indian Chef of the Year 2000 competition.

Entries are invited from professional or amateur chefs, who must submit a four-course menu for four people, including two meat, poultry or fish dishes and two vegetarian dishes. A paper judging will whittle entries down to eight finalists, who will compete in a cook-off at Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, on 25 February.

For an entry form, please call organiser Tommy Miah on 0131-538 7900.
