Sugar Club man goes it alone

Ex-Sugar Club head chef Peter Gordon has bought his own restaurant at 109 Marylebone High Street, London, formerly the Black Horse pub.

Gordon has bought a new 25-year lease at a £72,500 annual rent and plans to open the restaurant, called Providores, in May.

It will occupy the basement, ground and first floors of the building with a 60-seat Pacific Ocean Tapas bar on the ground floor and a 50-seat fusion restaurant on the first floor.

Neighbours include Conrans's Orrery restaurant and Getti, the new restaurant from former Spaghetti House partner Stefano Fraquelli. Fish! is also rumoured to be opening in Marylebone High Street.

Agent Berkeley Simmons Davis represented Peter Gordon and Carter Wassell Murdoch represented landlord Howard De Walden Estates.
