Support for Sea Fish Day

Support for Sea Fish Day

Fish restaurants all over the country are supporting National Sea Fish Day tomorrow (6 December), to raise money to help the families of fishermen killed or maimed at sea.

Livebait, Loch Fyne Restaurants, Wheeler's of St James's and the restaurants in the shops of the BHS chain are all giving 5% of their takings from fish dishes to the Action for Disaster fund of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.

According to the Marine Accident Investigation Board, fishing is the most lethal occupation in Britain, with seven fishermen killed or severely injured every month.

The Royal National Mission raised £145,000 on the same fund-raising day last year, and is aiming for £200,000 this year.
