Sutcliffe's university challenge

Sutcliffe Catering's Scottish division has won its first university contract, taking new business for the year so far to 35 contracts worth more than £3.5m.

From next term Sutcliffe will provide a five-day-a-week restaurant service and 24-hour vending across four sites for Aberdeen's Robert Gordon University. It will serve up to 4,000 full and part-time students, as well as academic and administrative staff.

Also in the educational sector, the division will provide meals for up to 2,000 students and staff at Inverness College, where it is installing four of the branded kiosks it launched in May: Zefferelli's (serving pizza and pasta), Hampers (sandwiches), Stripes (burgers) and Jackets - No Ties (baked potatoes).

Other recent gains include a contract to provide a restaurant and vending service to 350 staff at Edinburgh Crystal in Penicuik, Lothian.
