Technology Round-up

Some technological innovations on show at Earls Court today…

Caterplan's firsts:

Caterplan can now be found on the web at www.caterplan.com.

A free CD from Caterplan gives access to the World Wide Web and also a range of services to meet caterers' needs.

The service includes five e-mail addresses, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and on-line assistance.

Caterplan has also added new Knorr classic sauces to its portfolio, which were launched yesterday at Earls Court. This is the only range of granulated finished sauces in the UK market, says Caterplan.

The sauces range encompasses eight varieties: Demi-Glace; Pepper, Hollandaise; Bechamel Sauce Base; Mushroom; Curry; Cheese and Fish Velout.

Designer CD:

Need help designing a kitchen? Assistance is at hand with the second version of the CESACAD Symbol Library from The Association of Catering Equipment Manufacturers and Importers (CESA), on stand 696.

This new CD enables users to access drawings and specifications of 20 major companies' equipment without switching from one CD to another.

It is compiled from 2D and 3D equipment drawings and electronic specification sheets supplied by CESA members including Falcon, Foster and Viscount.

The CD will be sent free to FCSI and CEDA members.
