Wannabe operators looking to get a foot on the hospitality ladder may be interested in this seafront business in Torquay. The Corbyn Head Beach Café, on the beach of the same name, has come on to the market following the retirement of the current owner, who has operated the business between March and September. At the moment the caf‚ has a good mix of local and tourist trade in season and is currently turning over about £40,000. But last year it was granted a conditional liquor licence, and Riccardo De Paulis of agent Bettesworths, which is marketing the property, says the business offers good potential for early-evening licensed trade, although there is no seating inside. The business would be suitable for either a working proprietor or a couple looking for a daytime seasonal operation and is held on a 20-year lease with Torbay Borough Council. The lease dates from 1987 at a current rent of £4,950 and, being a council lease, is easily renewable. Bettesworths is seeking £46,950 for the leasehold interest of the property, which comes with a full trade inventory of equipment, utensils and goodwill. For more information contact Riccardo De Paulis on 01803 212142.
