The Kings Arms, Haworth

This week sees a pub with literary connections, being firmly rooted in West Yorkshire's "Brontë Country".

!
The Kings Arms is located in the Pennine village of Haworth, where the Brontë sisters, Charlotte, Anne and Emily, wrote many of their famous works, including Emily's Wuthering Heights. A traditional, stone-built pub, the Kings Arms boasts a number of period features, including exposed beams. It has a good split of wet and dry trade, and Haworth's historic connections ensure that the local trade is augmented by tourists. On the ground floor the main bar seats 40 people and there is a 26-seat restaurant, with the two-bedroom owner's accommodation arranged over the upper two floors. To the rear of the property, which is subject to a 10-year renewable lease from Punch Taverns that started in April 2000, there is a stone-flagged beer garden area. Agent Christie & Co is marketing the property off an asking price of £99,950. For further information contact Andrew Spencer in the company's Leeds office on 0113 389 2700.
