Cheshire caterer Pater McCormick has turned a Reliant van chassis into a low-cost refrigerated delivery vehicle with a completely flat loading area.

Using a stretched Reliant chassis, Insulated vehicle specialist Lamberet Isotherms built a customised insulated container, powered by Hubbard Transport's 160 refrigeration system. This body provides 54 cu ft useable space with a flat internal floor without wheel arches. This space is sufficient for 50 trays (600 x 400 x 100mm) of plated meals.

A standard 55amp alternator fitted to the Reliant's aluminium engine chills the body interior down to a sufficiently low temperature to cope with any UK weather conditions. the van is now used to deliver up to 120 functions a month within a radius of 15 miles. Road tax costs only £60 a year.
