Time to stop travelling
Question
After I graduated from university with a hospitality management degree five years ago, I decided to work abroad. I have worked three seasons as a hotel assistant manager for a large UK tour operator and then as a unit manager in the French Alps. I have also worked in Greece as an F&B manager and completed three summer seasons on the events circuit, which included running a catering unit serving thousands of people a day. I also have experience in weddings and corporate team-building events. I am currently working in sales at a resort in Colorado.
I am due to return to the UK at the end of April and feel it is time for me to stop travelling around the world. I am thinking that perhaps a post in conference and banqueting or event management in a hotel would suit me.
How can I convince potential employers that I am serious about staying in one place and that my skills are relevant to them and wholly transferable? Also, when I've looked at job adverts for this type of position, they ask for specific experience.
