Two guests die in Bolton hotel blaze

Two guests died in a fire at the Bolton Moat House hotel in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Another two guests at the Lancashire hotel were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and later released.

The fire broke out shortly after midnight on the third floor of the seven-storey, 115-bedroom hotel. There were 128 guests and staff staying in the hotel at the time.

At the height of the blaze, 50 firefighters and eight fire engines worked to bring the fire under control.
