Two new chips
TWO "chip-ice" machines, which make small ice pieces rapidly, bring the total range of ice types now available from Scotsman icemakers to nine (square, diamond, lenticular, supercubes, nuggets, flakes, super-flakes, scale ice and now, chips).
The new units plus a new medium capacity ACM cuber will be unveiled by Hubbard Refrigeration at next month's RAC '99 Refrigeration Show at the NEC along with a compact flaker - smallest in the Scotsman AF range - for drinks and food presentation.
n In an important corporate consolidation, Hubbard Refrigeration is now part of the new Hubbard Taylor Group, along with refrigerated vehicle and servicing specialist Hubbard Group Services and ice cream machine makers Taylor Freezer.
The 3i venture capital group led and arranged integration after acquisition in December 1998 from Bullough plc. It is seen as the first step towards creating a more powerful group focused on foodservice and drinks refrigeration.
The three companies have a combined turnover of £27m and around 300 staff. Hubbard Refrigeration continues to be managed by Jim Prior.
