UK visitors up on forecast

The number of overseas visitors to the UK increased by 11% to 20 million in the first 10 months of 1995, according to the latest Government figures.

Spending was up by 14% to £9.8b compared with the same period for 1994. On the basis of these figures, the UK looks set to exceed its forecast of 23 milllion visitors in 1995.
