UK welcomes Hungarian wine

By the end of September last year, import figures showed that Hungary was the fifth largest supplier of white wine to the UK market among non-EU producers.

That means that imports were more than a million bottles a month.

If these data were adjusted to allow for significant imports that arrive via Germany, it is believed that the figures would have been very much greater.

Newcomers to the ranks of UK shippers of Hungarian wines are Wines of Westhorpe (01283 820285) and Winecellars (0181-871 3979).
