Cringletie catch
Cringletie House hotel, near Peebles in the Scottish Borders, has been bought by the Windsor-based Wren's Hotel Group. Offers were invited in excess of £795,000, through agent Robert Barry. The group recently acquired the Auchterarder House Hotel near Gleneagles.
Langshott landing
Langshott Manor hotel, near Gatwick Airport, which won the Small Hotel of the Year Award in 1993, has been bought by Peter and Deborah Hinchcliffe, owners of the Rowhill Grange country house hotel near Dartford, Kent. The agent was Robert Barry & Co.
Rossis' racecourse
The 12-bedroom Old Racecourse Hotel in Ayr has been sold to Paul and Anne Rossi of the Savoy Diner, Ayr, off a £275,000 asking price.
And John and Carol Nicol, who sold the Old Racecourse, have purchased the Dunure Anchorage restaurant on the outskirts of the town, off an asking price of £200,000. Both sales were handled by Christie & Co.
Altrincham oasis
The 23-bedroom Beech Mount Hotel in Altrincham, Cheshire, has been sold by the Lee family, which had owned it for 20 years, to Altrincham-based Oasis Hotels UK for more than £295,000.
Film cafe spotlight
The National Film Theatre and the Museum of the Moving Image have opened the Film Café on London's South Bank.
