Under new management
It's now or never
Mario Bortoletto has sold the Sole Mio restaurant in Huddersfield to Derek and Stephanie Atkinson. The Atkinsons already own one restaurant, called Poppa Piccolinos, in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, and they want to buy another next year. The restaurant was sold by Christie & Co for close to the £275,000 asking price.
Pizzas with Pizzazz
Brian Longden's Poirot's restaurant in Dartmouth, Devon, has been sold by Christie & Co from a leasehold asking price of £100,000. Michael Hicks is the new owner, and he has renamed the 45-seat restaurant Pizzazz. Hicks will continue with the Mediterranean theme and specialise in pizzas.
Over the Half Moon
The Half Moon Inn, near Billingshurst, West Sussex, has been bought by Gemma Perry and John Kettink for slightly less than the asking price of £110,000. The Grade II-listed building (above) has two bars, bed and breakfast facilities and a new 18-seat Thai restaurant. Christie & Co sold the property on behalf of Ann Moran.
Dial House deal
The Dial House hotel in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, has been sold by Peter and Lyn Boxall to Adrian Campbell and Jane Howard. The hotel, which has 14 bedrooms and a two-AA-rosette restaurant, was on the market for £925,000 through Christie & Co.
